The Hi-Lo System

Hi-Lo Card Counting

The Hi-Lo system assigns a value to each card. You keep a running count as cards are dealt. A positive count means the remaining deck is rich in high cards — favorable to the player.

Cards	Count Value
2, 3, 4, 5, 6	+1 (low cards)
7, 8, 9	0 (neutral)
10, J, Q, K, A	-1 (high cards)

Running Count divided by Decks Remaining = True Count. Bet more when the True Count is +2 or higher.

True Count

In a multi-deck game, divide the running count by the number of decks remaining to get the True Count. This normalizes the count across different deck sizes.
